Family Name Tategami Jitsuryoku

Summoning History: Living around the Island that Reikon lived on for his whole life, for longer than even the cities history, has existed a family of mythical lions, said to have been descended for the lion god Aker himself. As Aker was the guardian and gatekeeper of the underworld, this lion family has been feared and hated, known only as a evil omen family, often sought after by people with horrible intent. This family of lions is a sacred and proud family, preferring to stay hidden and only allowing people they deem worthy to gain their summons.

In the turmoil, before even the first shinobi wars, the lords of heaven and earth watched over the lands, watching as man and woman turned against each of their kin. The feral fighting lasted millennia, and the human species rolled onward, downhill in a spiral of death, insanity, lust and betrayal. The gods, in spite of themselves, decided they would try to help the lost souls, but to no avail, the humans, instead of accepting the peace offered to them by the otherworldly beings, shunned them and hated them, casting out the gods as easily as they had turned on each other.

With this disdain, the gods abandoned earth, all except one, the lion god Leo, who watched the humans, with extreme dissatisfaction of failure. He decided that the mislead fools would need his divine intervention, and using his otherworldly powers, transformed himself into a human. He cast himself down to earth, living among the humans, among their betrayal and hate. After a mere three years among the earthbound creatures, insanity gripped him and he fled civilization, swearing that he would do everything within his power to bring the humans to the light.

After forty days and forty nights, he found himself lost in the desert, no humans around, no nothing, just sand, rolling hills of sand. This was where his legacy would begin, where the people would learn of him. Using the sand, and the blood of a god (His own), he formed a mate from the sand, an effigy, and using his blood, he breathed life into her. After her ‘Birth’ he let her go, hoping not to hold her against her will, and that she would come with him, but alas, she did not, after finding out she was just a creation of his, she fled the sands, leaving Leo once again lost and on his own.

Years went by, and as time passed, and wore onwards, so did the sanity of the lion god, he was driven insane by the many, many hours left alone. He had waited in the same spot, ever since she had left, waiting for her to come back to him. By this time, nearly a millennia had past, and the gods had unbound him of his god-ship, and he was now unable to contact or re-enter his previous position in the night sky. Cursed forever to remain on earth and grow forever more insane.

Leeu, meanwhile, had spent the past millennia searching for her creator, after a century of soul searching, she had deemed the human species unworthy of her attention, and now had her sights back on the only other person on the corrupted earth that still had honor. After many more years of searching she had found him, or to be more accurate, what was left of him. Leo had become a mere shell of the once proud warrior god he had once been, his mind was lost to the earth, decrepit and corrupted, he would turn on her and try to kill her for her own betrayal. Leeu was, in no way shape or form, his equal, even with his missing strength he easily overwhelmed her, nearly killing her in the process.

Leo, on his final swing realized what it was he was doing, and suddenly lost his confidence, falling backwards, begging for her forgiveness. Leeu, still occupied with guilt from her own actions forgave him easily, and agreed with him to begin life anew. They built an underground layer and began a family of their own, bringing in any who they deemed worthy and training them, even going as far as lending out a single summoning contract, lost upon the world since the last user, a man named Ki Kinomi, a dweller of the sands many years past.

Rumor has it that the Family who lived in Bassai has in their hands the scroll, but very few have ever managed to be accepted into the Island, and even less have managed to chance upon the scroll, hidden deep within the bowls of the Island. Even if one could, they would be judged by the Tategami Jitsuryoku, and you can either be accepted, or they kill you due to insolence. The scroll had now only been passed on to the Lion Syndicate which has now only been Reikon.

Summoning Description

A proud and prestigious summoning family, which very few along the ages have managed to get a contract with, and none have ever gained the approval of Leo, the main summon, as he is very judgmental, and holds a severe grudge against almost all humans. Due to them being sand users, they mostly align themselves with the chosen Lion Syndicate, although there have been cases where they have been so impressed by the skills of a ninja that they have offered up the training and contract.

The Tategami are lions that roam the sands of Bassai, sand and yellow in color, they blend in extremely well with the surrounding desert. Each lion has different colored eyes, Leo himself having the purest blue eyes, each of which hold the information of the entire world. Each of the family wear something akin to a royal headdress, and depending on the rank, they get a different style of headdress. Leo himself wears the Pschent, while Leeu wears the smaller, but equally enchanting Deshret.

Each lion has a marking on their forehead, it is the Hokori, or kanji for Pride. This kanji is almost like a rite of passage, as everyone Leo deems worthy of his training or contract is issued this kanji to be placed somewhere on their body, usually over the heart, so the pride is always first priority. Pride and honor are a huge deal for this summon family, they despice cowardice and weak willed people, and praise those who try their hardest, even if it means death. A major phrase stands out from the lines and lines of text about the family, and these are one of the few things that Leo and his mate revere about humans.

“Courage is not the absence of fear but the judgment that something else is more important than fear. The brave may not live forever but the cautious do not live at all. For now you are traveling the road between who you think you are and who you can be.”

Living on and Island for nearly all of their lives, the Tategami have adapted to learning the ways of the first Lion Syndicate. Who could control Lightning.

Summoning Allies

The Tategami Jitsuryoku are not a friendly clan towards most humans, but they do respect those with power, wit, bravery and honor. Displaying these qualities in front of Leo of Leeu will grant one the honor of training with the lion clan. Any mistakes made, or any hints of guile, trickery, deceit or lies, and one would find themselves dead faster than the Kazekage with Harashin.

Once again, the family hates any hints of guile, trickery, deceit or lies, any of these traits will have you killed, as they are despised qualities. Although they dislike sand users, they are not totally against them. Raiton users are the only ninjas they are completely objectionable to.

Personality Jibiinkouka, being just a cub is a very social lion, he loves to play and adventure, and has little regard for safety and rules. He loves the sunlight, and often, against his parents wishes travels out into the desert, just to play and fight the desert animals. Humans do not scare him, as he has befriended one before, so he believes that all humans are as nice and friendly as his only human friend. Naïve and trusting Jibiinkouka will often capture the hearts of anyone daring to enter the sanctum of the Lions.
Appearance: Small with overly large ears, Jibiinkouka is a very docile looking lion, more like a house cat than a fierce majestic lion summon. He has a darker coat than most of the other, most likely because he the only summon of this family who cannot use the sand manipulation, so he is neither a sand lion, nor able to control the sands. His eyes are a deep red, , hypnotic and cute, but they are the eyes of the lowest rank from this family, not that he minds of course, he enjoys bugging the rest of them anyhow. Being a cub, he has yet to grow his fierce lion mane, but being an eternal summon has his disadvantages, considering he will never actually get it. He wears the Pride tattoo on his forehead proudly, and displays it to anyone he meets.

Name:[/i][/b] Ying & Yang

Location: Bassai but can be summoned.
Personality: Ying is the overbearing rather confused male, he is large, powerful, and a bit on the slow side. Yang, his sister, is the more intelligent, but weaker side of this pair. Ying tends to follow yang, as he is never sure what is going on, while Yang is the leader and knows it. The two are both very pleasant and laid-back when it comes to most matters, but inseparable as they are, when one gets attacked, they would both give everything to save the other.
Appearance: Ying is a large almost white lion, born in the hottest regions of sand, where the white is pure and untainted, while Yang is a darker more earthen color, as she was born in the cooler, wetter climates. Ying and Yang are always hanging around, and when it comes to travel, Yang tends to just lie on her older brothers back and let him do the menial labor. Both Ying and Yang have black and white eyes respectively. Yang is quite small and never really battle-oriented, proffering to stay back and use helpful genjutsu, while Ying, who stands around 3 meters in height is always willing to knock a few heads.

Name: Griever

Location: Bassai but can be summoned.
Personality: Possibly the most difficult of all the summons to impress, as he is extremely difficult to associate with, and is not one to mince words, or listen to feeble excuses. Being a B-rank, he is actually quite powerful and wise, but not so much that he cannot be put in his place, which often happens, as Leeu does not look kindly upon his irrational and mostly foul behavior. He respects Leo and Leeu, but he looks down at all other members of the summoning family, as he believes in true strength and bravery, and does not believe that humans can possess such qualities. When summoned, if summoner does not show right respect, they risk being killed on the spot, as Griever is not one to forgive, or give chances. Possibly the hardest trial of all to face.
Description: Unlike the other lions, Griever is black in color, he has glowing silver eyes and a ferocious white mane around his head. He is truly awesome to behold, standing nearly three times the size of the average man and with fangs the size of a forearm. He is the only one of the summons who wears any kind of armor other than a crown. On his legs he wears something akin to shogun armor, up the outside of his legs with the space on his joints, the armor itself is blood red and has intricate patterns carved into it, some say it is the blood of his enemies that died it red, but other say it is just the design. Not that he would tell anyone, as he would rather kill a human than speak to one.

Location: Bassai but can be summoned.
Personality Leeu is a very wise and mature summon, she is very strict and proud, like her brethren, but she is more warm-hearted towards others than her clan tends to be. She is the only one that can keep a leash on the mighty Leos neck, and would make it seem like she is the true ruler of the clan, even though her strength is dwarfed by his own. To many humans, her personality is cool and aloof, but she has more restraint and acceptance of the humans than Leo or Griever, making her one of the safer summons.
Appearance: Leeu is the epitome of a female lion, she is slender and muscular, with a fierce look in her eyes, a hunter, with golden hued eyes, that seem to penetrate deep into ones soul. Her fur is a light shade of yellow, almost as golden as her eyes, but with streaks of white running down her back. Her crown rests snugly atop her head, and somehow manages to stay on, no matter what movements she does.

Description: The user creates several bright lightning beams and shoots them at the enemy. A halo of bright energy spreads from the user's hands as this technique is activated. The user is able to alter the beams direction after being shot, making it possible to strike multiple enemies with pinpoint accuracy, even bypassing hostages held in close proximity. The user can increase the number of beams to a great amount to pin down an enemy.

Description: Utilizing the Raiton element, the user generates a storm cloud and exhales it from the mouth in a large wave of electricity and black cloud, electrocuting everything it touches. The cloud is the size of a kunai but multiple of these can be called upon to control and limit the space of an opponent.

Description: Utilizing the Raiton element, the user creates six floating flowers made of Raiton chakra. They float around the user and fire powerful lasers at anything that gets within twenty meters of the user. The flowers fire once per turn and can blast through steel and other B-Rank jutsu except Fuuton which defeats them. The flowers have six petals and lose one every turn. After they lose them all they vanish.
